On the northbound platform of the Alpine Line platform at Chamonix is the entrance to the most intriguing of all the Frozen Underground's lines: the Haute Route. Its secretive nature, like that of Diagon Alley, is legendary, and only known to a select few who have dared to make the adventure to Zermatt.
Frozen Sign Info.
The Haute Route is the famous "High" Route that mountainy people like to ski (or walk) between Chamonix and Zermatt (or the other way round). It is about 180km-ish long and first skied in back in 1911. Staying in mountain huts, the usual travel time is in the order of a week, but the world record for speed was set by Lionel Claudepierre in 2013 and stands at 18h 35m.
The sign shows the two main versions of the ski touring Route: the top-down Classic and the branched Verbier Variation. Taking the Frozen Underground is also much faster - Argentière to Zermatt in 48 minutes. Beat that Lionel! ;-)
Customisation available: if you've done the route, add taglines to the stations about what happened there.
